CompuPhotoMania!!! BEWARE!

I am writing this a as public service to make camera and computer owners aware there is a new disease making itself known.  I have dubbed it CompuPhotoMania, or CPM.  Infection begins with the innocent snap shot or an email from a friend with a photo enclosed. This leads to another email and then to another victim who feeds the disease with a suggestion of , "HOW PRETTY, you should take more photos!"  The cycle has now begun and it may blossom into full fledged CPM.  As the victim continues, he or she finds an overwhelming urge to get better cameras and lenses.  Then, in order to create that perfect shot, the victim must buy more software, to edit said pictures.  This in turn leads to bigger, more powerful computers in order to be able to edit faster and better.  The CPM victim will find themselves addicted to places that allow them to share their photos and discuss aperatures, and fstops and composition.  A beneficial side effect of CPM is that the victim will meet other infected individuals and make some wonderful friendships! Many companies are shamelessly taking advantage of those afflicted with CPM.  Adobe, Facebook, MacIntosh, Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, just to name a few.   Another symptom of CPM is the overwhelming need to try to infect a spouse or friend.  This begins with asking said friend or spouse to drive you places so that you can take some pictures.  Soon, that person is infected by going with you to see what you come up with, and in some instances may even have to get their own equipment to shoot and edit along with you.  Doctors have been unable to conduct any studies on this vicious disease because those that are infected don't want to find a cure. Persons should be on the look out for signs they are infected such as the development of CompuPhotoSomnia.  This complication to CPM is an inability to sleep because of an incessant need to  edit, "just one more photo" or to write a Blog about photos and computers and....   UH OH!
